2026 CANO Summer Arts Workshops for Kids Basics

● The Summer Arts Workshops for Kids runs Monday-Friday 1pm-4pm. CANO does not offer extended care. Students must be picked up promptly. 

● Enrollment for the Summer Art Program begins on March 25.

● Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.

● Payment is required upon registration to reserve the space. Sign up for 1 or all weeks or just one day (one day options will be available in May). 

● Summer Arts Program is designed for children between ages 6 and 11.

● Each week is different, so be sure to register for multiple weeks throughout the summer for an immersive art experience!

Parents of attendees, please read:

● Attendees must bring a nut-free snack every day to eat during a supervised break. Please also provide a water bottle or other beverage for your child

● Parent/guardian must sign child into the summer art workshops and sign out upon pick-up

● Please let your child stay at home if they are sick. Children with a fever or other symptoms of illness will not be allowed to attend that day.

● Art is messy! Children must wear clothing that can get paint, ink, and other mediums on them. We recommend that children wear closed-toe shoes for their own protection.

● Art mediums and materials are included in tuition.

*Cancellation Policy

A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made two weeks before the registered start date. No refunds will be made for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to that date. Please notify us immediately of any cancellations. Full refunds will only be granted if the program is canceled. 

*Disciplinary Policy

To ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, disruptive or dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. While teachers will make every effort to redirect behavior, parents will be called and asked to pick up their child if problem behavior persists. There will be no refund of class fees if a child must leave due to behavioral issues.

*Medical or Other Needs

It is your responsibility to let our teachers know of any medical or other needs that your child has. CANO is not responsible for the administration of medication, wtih the exception of an Epipen (provided by parent) in emergency situations. Please fill the Consent to Treatment form at first day of class.

Summer Arts Workshops

Monday-Friday,1-4pm 

The Summer Arts Workshops for Kids is an immersive arts experience with visual arts workshops as well as music, writing, drama, nature and more. Please note that there are no "themed" weeks like our Summer Visual Art Program as each day is unique with different instructors from a variety of backgrounds! 

Registration is currently only open per week. Please note that registration may fill up quickly and pre-registration is required. More details regarding each week's offerings will be added shortly. No drop ins! 

Week 1: June 29-July 3

Mixed media projects that explore native wildlife and local history with Megan Joubert & Sara Christoff throughout the week with writing/storytelling Friday with Allison Collins. 

Week 2: July 6--10

Mixed media projects with Megan Joubert & Sara Christoff throughout the week with writing/storytelling Wednesday with Allison Collins. 

Week 3: July 13-17 

All Visual Art projections throughout the week with Megan Joubert & Sara Christoff, and Laura Kittisou. 

Week 4: July 20-24

A variety of visual art projects throughout the week with Megan Joubert & Sara Christoff with a quick dive into theater from Courtney Murphy Monday. 

Week 5: July 27-31

Mixed media art projects throughout the week with Megan Joubert & Sara Christoff with writing by Allison Collins and an art & music workshop. 

Week 6: August 3-7

An exciting week of media art projects as well as writing with Allison Collins, Batik with Hazura Isilay and theater with Courtney Murphy. 

Week 7: August 10-14

Explore visual art with Megan Joubert & Sara Christoff + a writing workshop with Bailey Ernst. 

Week 8: August 17-21

Writing workshops with Allison Collins, as well as visual art with Bailey Ernst and Maddison Rosario-Fuller. 

Week 9: August 24-28

Explore drama with Courtney Murphy, ceramics by Afsana Khundkar, and mixed media art projects that celebrate the natural world.  

Week 10: August 31-September 4

A variety of mixed media projects, in addition to drama with Courtney Murphy and repurposing fashion into art.
