Call for Art: Re/Structure  

 

CANO seeks both 2- and 3- Dimensional artwork for a national juried exhibition inspired by the collective drive to examine the order, purpose, or systems in the often chaotic space of Motherhood. 

 

Re/Structure will highlight artists who are working within the constructs that support domestic life. The exhibition will reframe domesticity, either physically and emotionally, and ask the viewer to examine a new, expanded, vision of mother as 'Homemaker.' 

 

This call is open to those who self-identify as an Artist/Mother.

​About the Galleries

Exhibition will take place in the Hathaway and the Fine Craft galleries of the historic Wilber Mansion located at 11 Ford Ave, Oneonta, NY. Each exhibit opens with an artist reception on the first Saturday of the month. Openings will be held in-person pending the NYS regulations regarding the pandemic restrictions. Applications:

Artists should send the following:

• 3-5 images that relates to the theme of the exhibition

• Image List – including title, dimensions, materials and date for each work

• Artist Statement – 500 words or less

Images should be saved as jpegs, 1920 pixels on the longest side.

 

Files should be titled numerically followed by artist’s initials, i.e.: 1-jfk.jpg, 2-jfk.jpg, etc.
