I’ve been doing mixed media clocks and their like for 34 years. They grow and transform over time and will continue to do so. My clocks are made with a wood base and are encouraged to develop personalities. Give me your junk, your broken object, toy, fishing reel, typewriter, and for me Life is Good!
JOSEPH T. MUEHL
I am a fine woodworker who creates finely crafted furniture. My original designs, often inspired by my appreciation of Art Nouveau and Art Deco sensibilities, are executed in a variety of native and sustainable woods. Over the past three years I have created twenty-five unique pieces including lamps, end tables, mirrors and cabinets that I would like to present in the gallery environment. Each piece opens up a new challenge for me as I strive to incorporate new twists and turns that require me to sharpen my skills and experiment with new materials and techniques. While I am crafting functional pieces each one is an artistic challenge for me as I strive to create work that is both utilitarian and an object of artistic interest.
JANKY PAINTING – COLIN WEEKS
Janky Painting & Toilet Company LLC is the single overarching artistic creation of artist Colin Weeks. Janky Painting wades heavily into the seas of duality. It aims to explore, as well as physically ride upon, the thresholds of many disparate and divergent yet common and complimentary worlds. For example – art and business, object and product, soul and commodity, advertising and proselytizing – many of the chasms straddled each and every day by millions of Americans living in a not only culturally but even temporally fractured society. Janky Painting exists not only as a fully functioning commercial business, but also as a living, breathing, kinetic art piece. Janky do Thanky!
