Jason Kates van Staveren Curatorial Statement:

‘I am a 42-year-old man and in the course of my life, I have lived in 39 different houses that I called home. All but one of them are now simply houses that I used to live in. When I reflect on the palpable distinction between the two definitions of each of those spaces I am left with many more questions than answers. How can home, the most precious space one can know, be transformed so absolutely and permanently into just some rooms? Does it work the same way for other people?… By curating this show I hope to at once help incredible art get exposure as a group that expands the message of each, and to open a dialogue about the questions such a group raises.’
